New Delhi Metallo-beta-lactamase ( NDM-1 ) is not a Bacterium or a Virus.
It is an Enzyme found in some strains of bacteria that makes the bacteria resistant to almost ALL Antibiotics.
Lots of people still don't know what is NDM-1. They thought this Superbug is not that strong as H1N1 or other types of Flu. But please take note that NDM-1 is very dangerous, same as H1N1, this may cause DEATH as well!!!
How is NDM-1 Transmitted???
- Through air, such as breathing in respiratory droplets of coughs and sneezes.
- Through contact, for example, touching a bacteria-laden doorknob.
- Poor hand hygiene, such as not washing hands after sneezing and coughing into them.
- Poor food hygiene, such as touching food with dirty hands.
- Poor infection controls in hospitals.
